Guest guest
Hi Eileen - Welcome to SCD! One thing I've done that seems to work well is: Drip your yogurt, then put it into vacuum-sealed bags (I have a FoodSaver) - you could probably just use Ziplocs as well. If you're flying, pack it into your checked luggage along with some blue ice to keep it cold. In reality, it won't hurt it if it doesn't stay super cold, since it sits out while dripping anyway (at least in my case, I don't drip it in the refrigerator, so it's at room temp for several hours). I suppose you could also use containers like Tupperware, with a ziploc around the outside, but my method saves a lot of space. If you're driving, just bring it along in a cooler. The longest I've been gone on SCD so far is about 4 days and that worked fine. I also recommend having an SCD-legal acidophilus supplement (you can get them several places, I order mine from GI Pro Health), and take those along to keep the good bugs going. Good luck!
