Unexpectedly, zinc oxide also seems to be expressing the closed comedones (blackheads) that infest the pores of my nose and along its crevices. To my knowledge, the exfoliation process is a necessary step in the treatment and elimination of acne; therefore, I will continue with the zinc oxide protocol (try Desitin creamy - it contains dimethicone/cyclomethicone, which Dr. Nase extolled for its ability to " melt " the zinc into the skin and its relatively elegant application) for a few weeks to see if the acne improves. If it doesn't, then discontinue administration of this substance.
