Guest guest
Ron- When I was finishing my radiation, the doc felt my tumor was swelling some, which is not an uncommon response to radiation. So I was given a steroid to control the swelling. The problem was that ultimately I was allowed to be on it for too long. It caused severe muscle weakness so that I became wheelchair bound. Fortunately this is all reversible, though it takes time. Despite my experience, I know that steroids can be very helpful. I do think you should reconsider. Perhaps the doc didn't "trick" you but merely stated the leading uses of the steroid for you. My thoughts are with you, Barbara B., NYC
