Guest guest
It's Beverly. Although I put Nystagmus in the subject line, I'm actually needing to ask a question regarding my 7 yr. old daughter now. I knew you guys would read if I put this in the subject cause you would remember from earlier this week. I hope you won't be angry for me doing this. I do still have many questions regarding my son's neurological eye condition whether it be a tic, tourette, PANDAS, or nystagmus, but now there's something else going on in my other child. I will have to update you on my son at a different time. We did see a much better doctor at Indianapolis, IN who is much more concerned with my little guy. My other problem: my 7 yr. old daughter had a tonsillectomy yesterday (Friday) morning and is having a bit of a rough recovery. I'm not even quite sure how to explain it, but I'll do my best. She is going through spells of being really agressive that seems beyond the normal not good feeling good after tonsillectomy. We have had a horrible time getting her to drink and stay hydrated. I'm having trouble telling if it could be that she's getting somewhat dehydrated causing aggressiveness, headaches or if it could be caused from the Lortab elixir that was prescribed for her. She seems to look dehydrated and has mood changes, then drinks a little and looks a little better and acts a little better, then it starts all over again. I talked with the pharmacist and he said Lortab for kids acts like alcohol does for adults....they feel good for a while, then fall asleep and upon waking may act totally different....sounds familiar to me! But he also feels that dehydration is a possiblity too. I haven't been able to find much info. on the net about Lortab side effects. Do any of you know anything about this drug being used for children? I know you're probably wondering why I haven't taken her to the local ER. Many reasons. My husband doesn't agree with the way I feel; due to my children and I being recurrently in the local ER for constant health problems they treat me like a total hypochondriac whether it's concerning me or my kids. I will take her if I feel sure she is looking dehydrated again. I may end up taking her as soon as I'm done here. She seems to be looking a little better, but I'm still wondering what's going on. I will update more on my son if my daughter starts doing better tonight. But I must make sure she's okay. Of course, I know you understand. The hard part is to figure out right now which child's life may be in more danger. This really stinks!!! So much stress! Let me know if you have info. on Lortab for kids. I made this longer than I really had time for. Thanks again everyone! Beverly--Indiana CFS Pituitary/Hypothalamus Dysfunction
