Hi , at the end of the day all you can trust is YOUR parental instinct.

Never doubt it, because there are a lot of people, the internet, celebs, spokespeople, organizations, etc which can sow seeds of doubt in you in how to proceed, what to do, what not to do, how long to do it for.

My daughter is now 7 years old, diagnosed and age 3.5, and also did not regress - she didn't hit her milestones. Looking back, maybe it was the flu shot, maybe the vaccines, but what I learned is that the best thing to do is gather the facts, weigh the pros and cons to YOUR situation, listen to advice but as I said, at the end of the day, you're going to make the decision for YOUR child.

Some will agree with you, some will advise you, some will disagree, but YOU are the parents and YOU make the decision regarding everything that affects YOUR daughter's situation. Our kiddies are like snowflakes, so similar and yet everyone of them is so different!

Regarding your daughter's onset of sickness - what other factors are coming into play? Is she with other children at preschool or daycare? We all know what breeding grounds for illness those are. Could that be the reason that she's so sick now? I know my whole family was constantly sick around that age - she'd get it, then me, then my husband and on and on. I know as parents we tend to get very focused on the ASD side of things and sometimes fail to see the whole picture.

If you feel like your doctor is going way out there, then he/she is. This is your instinct talking. Listen to it. Too many times we end up second-guessing ourselves and then kick ourselves later for not listening. Stay strong. You're a great parent and always come from love. Become empowered as a parent and I promise you the ASD will be more manageable.
