Guest guest
Eileen and all: I spoke to Marilyn on the phone about a half hour ago. She sounded tired and stressed, but happy that the surgery is done and she's getting better. She is off the morphine pump (and used it as little as possible while it was hooked up). She was allowed to get out of bed for a while today -- she was sitting in a chair when I called, and earlier she took a short walk in the hallway. She's still hooked up to various tubes and wires and things, all of which sounds unpleasant-but-necessary. At this point, her best guess is that they'll release her on Friday, but she doesn't think she'll be up to much online stuff for a few more days. If you want to send her a message, you can do so through the hospital's website: http://www.touro.com/inTouch/FormGenerator.aspx?form_id=4 & site_id=1 & page_id=161 & \ major=2 & minor=0 I can't tell if the form requires the room number. I'm not sure of Louisiana patient-privacy rules; if you call the hospital, they may or may not give you her room number. If you need the room number and can't get it from the hospital, email me and I'll pass it on to you. -- JSW
