Guest guest
a, Don't be too hard on yourself for not knowing the difference between abdominal cramps and labor pains. Honestly, for me, they are very similar pains. I have had two babies, and if anyone asks me what labor pains feel like, I always say, imagine the worst stomach flu you ever had. Remember how you had those terrible abdominal cramps that would come in waves and seemed to wash over your whole body? We'll that's what labor pains felt like to me. I have heard of many women who start their labor, and in the beginning, they don't realize it is labor, they just think they are a little sick. So, it is not all that clear-cut what labor pains feel like, and really it is different for every woman. On the other hand, once you get a little farther along this pregnancy, you should be able to put your hand on your belly and feel it harden up during a contraction. At first it will just be Braxton-Hicks contractions, which are no big deal, but they will give you some practice at feeling what a contraction is like. Hopefully you will have several more weeks before the " real thing hits " . I am 27 weeks pg right now, so I will be right behind you! Lynn > > Hi all!
