Hi there!

500 mg would be unusual. My son is 7 (50 lbs) and is on 1.5 mg (which is the same as 1500 mcg) every 3 days. Dr Neubrander recommends 64.5 mcg PER KILO of body weight. (your child weight in pounds divided by 2.2=his weight in kilos). Multiply his weight in kilos X 64.5 to get the dosage. I think it is pretty standard for compounding pharmacies to use a concentration of 25mg per ml and will supply it in tiny pre-filled syringes. Double check with the doc! Good luck

Hi Everyone. Have important question. My daughters doc is said he is giving 500mg of methyl b12 every 3 days. Dr Neubrander recommends 64.5 mcg. Im confused why my doc uses MG in his description to me and he is asking me how many milligrams are these children that I am hearing taking every third day. he wants me not to tell him 64.5 mcg, he is asking me for the actual dosage. He said he is giving my 2 year old a good amount. Can anyone explain this to me and if so is this 500mg every 3 days normal?
