Together we are registered with the Delta Society as a Pet Partner Team. We are interested in visiting children in the Wellington, Lake Worth and West Palm Beach areas to provide Animal Assisted Therapy or Animal Assisted Activities. Would your child like to visit with Boomerang? He is rated to visit " predictable " environments which would mean a setting that is not high-stress. Boomerang is a very easy-going guy who loves to be pet, brushed, hugged and even kissed! You may be interested in having Boomerang work with your child's occupational therapist or speech and language pathologist to achieve certain goals for your child. Many professionals believe that animals can have a positive effect on human health and development. The possible benefits are numerous, but to mention a few: Mental stimulation, socialization skills, nurturing skills, and developing healthy relationships through physical touch are all possible through animal assisted activities or therapy. Gross and fine motor skills could be addressed by brushing him, walking him or giving him a snack. Speech needs could be addressed by learning to give Boomerang a command. Self grooming could be taught by learning to take care of Boomerang. The possibilities are endless! Sincerely, and Boomerang Please contact (Boomerang hasn't yet been able to work the computer keyboard with his paws!) at mamaholme@... or call .
