Guest guest
Stories like this amaze me. Why can't more GI's consider the possiblity that diet plays a large part in CD, UC and other GI problems? I'm very happy for you Ginger. YOU GO GIRL!!!! He also said that he could see the villi growing back again! Finally, he says that my Crohn's is in total remission. I am convinced that this result is totally due to strict adherence to the Specific Carbohydrate Diet. I will never go back to the old way of eating. I know that SCD has saved my life. Guest guest
Ginger, Thanks for sharing this wonderful and amazing story. It gives me and my situation so much hope! I always wonder the role SCD can have with scar tissue as well. But the fact the villi grew- OMG. I cried reading this post. Congratulations to you!! I don't blame you for not wanting to go back eating the regular way. I feel I'm an SCD'er for life too. I had many years of regular food and it got me nowhere. I know this is easy for me to say since I have only been on the diet 6 months.. Maybe when I am much better I won't have to be so fanatical when I eat out or travel. Like worry too much about a sauce or something like that. But this is a lifestyle for me. Hurrrrray for you and I'm clapping! Guest guest
Hi Ginger, I just started the diet & am encouraged by your story. How long have u been on it? What advice do you have for someone just starting? How long b4 u strted feeling better? I've had colitis for 12 years & have 2 kids. I find the diet very isolating since I no longer eating the same things my family eats. 3 weeks in and no sign of improvement and I would luv a piece of toast. Thanks for ur input. Guest guest
Ginger, thanks for posting this! I started the diet about two weeks ago, and it has been a little difficult. I have already seen a significant reduction in abdominal pain and discomfort, but have been a bit discouraged by some of the recent stories about serious relapses. Your experience is exactly what I needed to hear to push me toward my two month mark, at which point I will closely evaluate my bloodwork to see if there is even slight improvement. Guest guest
meenatah@..., If your showing no signs of improvement, have you been over the foods that you are eating? Checking for illegals? Supplements? If you want toast, why don't you have a peice of toast? There are great bread recipies, some with almond flour and some without. Katy 3 weeks in and no sign of improvement and I would luv a piece of toast. _____________________________________________________________Get your fix. Click here for reliable handyman services!
