Guest guest
Hi My son will be 3, the end of Aug. At 18 mos. his ped. sent us to early developmental services. They have been working with Adam once a week since then. He says a few words, Mom,Nine, Arf, NANA, and Yes. We started with a private SP 3 weeks ago. He has almost all his vowels now. He saw a ped neuro in Feb who said he has some sort of verbal apraxia. He understands everything that is said to him and uses signs. The Dr. also mentioned Bilateral perisylvian syndrome. Does anyone know what this is? It has something to do with mutism. We were just back at the ped neuro, he wants to do a MRI with blood work. He mentioned to a CBC, B12, Folate level, BPK, thryoid, routine karyotyping, fragile x testing, neogen screen. Does anyone know what all this is? The doctor did say that any possible problems that Adam has could be realted to his early perinatal difficulities. His birth started out normal, but I didn't dilate enough. They let me labor for 74 hours, and finally did a c-section. We had asked for a c-section 2-3 times, and were told it wasn't necessary. Forceps were tried, but didn't work. My bladder ruptured, Adam had seizures within 12 hours of birth. He was put on pheno for 2 mos. This put him behind is so many developmental things. I could go on and on, but Adam is waking from his nap Thanks for listening. Terry Jo
