Perhaps A.S. is doing things like this, because more and more people are determining they don't like the way the Autism Speaks organization works, or that they don't feel that the organization is saying, or doing things for the betterment of autistic people, or in a manner that coincides with their beliefs about autism. I don't know if it is because the group has gotten so large or what, but I think they have lost touch with what the autistic community and their families actually want, think or feel about autism. I think they should leave the kids alone. Just my personal opinion on this subject, and I hope I don't offend anyone. G. As many of you know, the grandparents who founded Autism Speak are

not the best speaking terms with their daughter (mother of the child

with autism), or at least they have aired their disagreements on what

causes autism (vaccinne effect), how to treat the symptoms,

priorities, organization's approaches/policies etc... and the

grandparents have sort of pushed aside her views. If the AS founding

family can not be open to accepting different points of view within

their family, what can we expect of their attitude to the rest of the

nation? It is a shame...
