Guest guest
Hi all! I am back from Dr. Batzdorf's at UCLA. I found out that I have to have the decompresion surgery redone. The cerebellum, scar tissue, the muscles, and the dural patch all clumped up so it is making me have all the symptoms I had prior to the original surgery all over again. He has to redo the decompression using a different type of patch, some special matterial (like what they use in sleeping bags), and some plastic so that the cerebellum and the patch do not adhere together again. He has to take some tissue from my head in a different place. Boy, will my hair be real special this time! Best part of the visit was that I found out that the syrinx from C1 to T2 is completely gone! YAHOO! I know one thing it was sure depressing when I left his office to know that I have to go under the knife again, but it sure did help me to know that I have something wrong and it was not all just in my head (even though it is/imagining it). The doctor who did the original decompression surgery in March 2000, said that everything looked really good but now I must have bersitus in my right arm. He just blew me off! Atleast this time I know what to expect, how special my hair will look, and thank god I did not throw away my hats! Hope you are all well!
