As many of you know, one of the schools that I work with Bashaw Elementary School from Manatee County, was selected as the elementary finalist in the American Federation of Teachers Inclusive Schools contest. Bashaw is competing for the grand prize against two other schools (one middle school and one high school). Here’s where you come in… Please visit the website of the American Federation of Teachers at http://www.aft.org/tools4teachers/contest.htm and cast your vote for H. Bashaw Elementary School. (You can read a little bit about how things work and why the program was selected as a finalist for the award.) The teachers and administration are wonderful advocates for inclusion and are very deserving of this award.

It looks like you can vote only one time per computer but feel free to forward this to your friends/colleagues and to vote at home as well! Voting is open from Dec. 12, 2008, to Jan. 9, 2009.

Thanks,Mike
