Guest guest
hi, have you tried to change your pillow case each day and wash with ivory, Also i put an allergy pillow case cover that prevents dust mites from coming through. I have read about the possible connection with deodex mites and rosacea so i try to prevent as much as possible. Also every day i take anithistamines to assist in reactions, i do not use claritin or allegra or reactine( brands in province of manitoba where i live) but use benadryl as it works fast but must be taken more often, Hopefully some of these tips might help you, susan Re: Flushing >Hi Sherry, >There are many times (other than my temp./food/etc. triggers ) that I >have no clue why my face goes so red, too. Guest guest
I'm glad to see someone else report waking up with a flushing face. Mine seems to be worse first thing in the morning. Has anyone tried, or been advised by their derm, to tilt their bed? I suppose blood settles in the face during the nite. Perhaps having your head and upper body a couple inches higher would prevent this. I've heard this helps people with acid reflux. Also, I gave blood a few months ago, and noticed my rosacea subsided a bit. I'm anxious to try my theory again, that maybe we have "too much" blood (if that's possible). I'm ready to try anything. Metrocream just isn't cutting it anymore. I'm open to any new ideas....... Hi Sherry, There are many times (other than my temp./food/etc. triggers ) that I have no clue why my face goes so red, too. Some days it stays that way all day. Other mornings, I wake up w/ a fairly normal, flesh- colored face. If I manage to sleep at all, I wake up with the red pustules and red, flaky skin wherever my face touches the pillow or sheet. My face is usually only decent if I stayed up ( in the dark ) most of the night before. Sorry I can't be of more help. My best bet is to never be out of freezing cold surroundings. Easier said than done! Good luck on controlling your flushes. Please post if you figure out a pattern or a solution! And I have had very little flushing since then. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ eGroups.com home: /group/rosacea-support - Simplifying group communications

Isn't this used primarily by heart disease patients who want to " thin the blood " ? Guest guest
I 've been taking an aspirin lately (to help the spitting headache I get from a stressful job), but haven't noticed it helping my flushing. I drink water like an elephant, and do believe that helps, especially ice water. I've tested negative for H-philoric (ulcer enzyme), and I don't believe it's related to little bugs on my face. There are people with much fairer skin than mine, that's lily white - not the least bit flushed, so I think a derm's response that it's " cause you're Irish " is a cop-out. Metrocream seemed to help at first, but I think now that it was the tetracycline that did the most good. Are there people out there that take this regularly? My derm only gave me a 30 day supply, with no refills. Taking it is a pain, but if it helps...... Guest guest
I have the redness all the time, a few bumps and I flush 2 or 3 times a day. If I have a flare up I have many red bumps and flush on and off all day long...sometimes lasting several days...
