Please Complete Survey on Special Education in

Florida

Parents and Advocates:

I am collaborating with the Florida Developmental Disabilities Council on

a research project studying the effectiveness of IDEA and Section 504

complaint procedures in Florida. An important element of this research

is a survey of parents and educational advocates, so that we can

understand your perspective of special education in Florida.

For this reason we are seeking to obtain the maximum survey responses from

both parents and advocates. Below you will find links to surveys for

parents and advocates. You need only click on those links or (if that

fails) copy and paste the link into your browser. The survey only takes a

few minutes but your responses will be invaluable.

Please be careful to only respond to the survey which corresponds to your

status as either a Florida parent of a child with disabilities or/and a

Florida educational advocate. For the purpose of this survey an educational

advocate is an individual who presents him/herself as an educational

advocate and regularly advocates for children with disabilities. If you are

both a Florida parent of a child with an educational disability and an

educational advocate you may complete both surveys.

Please forward the links for these surveys, along with the above

instructions, to any parents of children with disabilities or educational

advocates you may know. The wider this survey is distributed and the

greater number of responses we receive the more valid our results will be.

Please send the survey to all eligible individuals, without consideration of

their feelings, pro or con, relative to the education of children with

disabilities.

Your responses and your help in distributing this survey are greatly

appreciated.
