The 2007/2008 year was an awesome year for our chapter. Some of the events held include: 12 Broward County Schools were recognized for National Inclusive Schools Week. Lecture by Author, Naseef, co-sponsored by the Center for Autism and Related Disabilities (CARD) Family Fun Day Bowling Event Transition Training for Parents Sexuality Training by Dr Marilyn Volker Participation in Developmental Disabilities Day in Tallahassee Autism Awareness Day in Tallahassee Autism Resolution Presentation before School Board by 3 students on the autism spectrum “Hanging of the Hands†project in the State Capitol Bldg… Featuring preschool children with autism Autism Awareness Day at the Florida Marlins Funding over 20 children with summer camp scholarships and over 40 with gymnastics scholarships. .... and many informative meetings on a variety of topics Our goal for 2008/2009 is to “give back to our local community.†Families are in need of so much support, and we want to work together to provide a direct impact to those living here at home.
