Guest guest
, Oops, I didn't see your clarification on the parent genetics issue til now (sorry, I work my way up from the bottom of my very full mailbox!!!) I guess I hit reply too soon... Funny re: CPT on a healthy baby--they would call the law on you, as we would say here in TN....but it reminds me of a funny story that I told on cystic L right after was diagnosed I guess about 17 months ago.... Anyway, he was in daycare at the time and the teacher was doing CPT for us at naptime. Well, we were all worried about him at the time because he was very very congested. Anyway, at pick up time, she caught me in the hall (all the while apparently another nosy mom was listening...) and she says something like: " I am really worried about --I have to tell you that I beat him at naptime and again after outside play time, but I don't think it did any good " To which I replied: " Oh, I know, we are worried too....we have been beating him alot more than usual, even harder than usual, but you are right, it does not seem to be doing any good...but we really do appreciate you all working with us. There are not many daycares that would be so willing to help us with this " OK, so everyone reading this realizes what the nosy mom heard, right??? YOu guessed it! The next day, DHS shows up at the daycare investigating a report that they are abusing my son and that the parents are in on it too....Of course, copies of the treatment plan and copies of all the CF info and copies of the CPT inservice the staff had satisfied the protective services worker...but still! It is funny now, it was even funny when I first posted it to cystic-l--but it was not funny that day... (we don't use the term " beat " btw, but I just used it that day prob. because I was just echoing what the teacher said....) Anyway, your depiction of the grandma snatching up babies to do cpt on just got me going.... Also, to whoever posted originally about all that noise after CPT--I would RUN--now walk--to a GI referral, as that sounds really really suspicious for reflux...Mallory has always had that noise after meals (sometimes as soon as the first bite) and always after CPT, but we were told that noise is much more likely reflux congestion than CF...and since there is such a high correlation between the twoand since reflux is pretty common in babies anyway, I would def. get it checked out if I were in your shoes.... Just another perspective... Take care, Jennie
