Guest guest
, I'll put some comments below yours. Thanks for the encouragement. >I think that ketosis happens on a no/extremely low carb diet. It has >to be pretty low/no carb. All of the following foods below are >carbohydrates..........just not the complex carbohydrates. This is a >specific carb diet not a no carb diet. Yes, a good reminder that this is a specific carb diet, not complex carbs. I think that from what I understand I'm burning fat for energy right now. And that there is some detoxing going on. However, things are better this week and my weight loss is not as fast as it was the first week. >> (but my home support will try making >> squash bread for Friday) >(......my recipe has honey........this is >quite a high source of carb actually even in small amounts. ) I have not had any honey since beginning SCD. It's not something I've bought for maybe 30 years. I never used to eat anything with honey in it, either; however, the past 10 years or so, I did try eating something once in awhile which contained honey. >There is something added to the concentrate that I would not >recommend. A lot of those natural flavors really get me and cause >heightened sensitivities for me. I have not gotten any written info from the company but I do very well with concentrated 100% lemon juice and I'm extremely sensitive. I think at this point it's not something I'll concern myself about. >I tolerate the applesauce well........and even am able to put my >bisalts into it.......have you tried this yet? It depnds upon the >individual of course. I am non reactive to apples....but tolerate >them best still as the applesauce.....and it seems overwhelming but >is not difficult to make. I have not tested apples yet, because they have been very difficult for me for years. However, last year was the first year I seemed to start tolerating them. [i used to be sensitive to almost all foods] >I myself never did too well with the intro diet and have since found >out that I am sensitive to the chicken and many of the things I was >putting into the broth. Chicken and egg are the same food >family.............so it is good to be cautious there. Yes, I'm aware that chicken and eggs are from the same family. At some point, I may stop eating both of them; however, as far as I can tell now, I'm doing a whole lot better with them than I used to. I don't like sole much and I don't think I could just eat sole and carrots. [it's hard to get organic zucchini and organic green beans right now] I seem to be tolerating avocado right now, and it seems to be helping me. It's a great food to prevent blood sugar drops. I'm hoping I'll be able to keep eating it. There was a time when I couldn't. One of my concerns is that eating the same foods all the time can lead to intolerance of those foods. It will be good if I can start rotating, at some point. I have to be very careful how fast I detox. Extremely careful. For example, I start detoxing within 30 seconds, if someone does any kind of physical therapy on me. Then within a few more seconds I can get extremely toxic with dizziness, nausea, etc. Actually I'm doing well compared to years in the past when I've gone on elimination and/or rotation diets. I've done whatever kind of healing I could manager over the last 36 years; however, I'm still extremely sensitive to chemicals and I still live in unhealthy housing. I was a Universal Reactor, and it's possible I'm still considered that; however I don't have an EI doctor. Thanks for understanding about the sensitivities.
