What is the cost of something like this and how did you learn about it?? I was researching something else entirely and stumbled across it. (search topic had to do with building methods in western Canada for something I'm writing) As I understand it, the cost is likely to be between 10 and 25% more than a standard " stick built " house, but virtually maintenance-free. They offer hands-on classes on their building methods, which include tours of many of the homes they have built. Expensive classes, but not outrageous for professional level education class, and it makes sure that only the people who are serious attend. I asked about how well it would work in the SE US, and apparently, they have built one home whose owner no longer bothers with air conditioning because of the high R value of the home. Given that my air conditioning bill from about March to November is what most northern folks have for a January heating bill, the higher cost would pay for itself quickly. — Marilyn New Orleans, Louisiana, USA Undiagnosed IBS since 1976, SCD since 2001 Darn Good SCD Cook No Human Children Shadow & Sunny Longhair Dachshund
