One of the most difficult choices I ever made was to change career directions a few years ago. After 20 odd years of critical care nursing, I knew I could no longer keep up the physical pace and after a year of staying home I found myself spending more and more time focusing on the daily miseries of PA and P AND being angry 90% of the time. The angrier I got, the worse I felt. On a lark, I decided to try something I never would have thought of doing, and found totally different rewards--- I am working again, doing medical case management, working with a phone and computer. Even that is sometimes difficult, but my attitude, which I have found is one of the few things that I really have any control over, has improved greatly. I now try to allow myself an occasional day to be p***'d off and the rest of the time, plod along as best as I can. I find this works for me best. in wisconsin

Guest guest
Hi, It's been awhile since I've posted - but just thought I'd bring everyone up to date on some good news....'s original 37-degree left-facing curve is now UNDETECTABLE! :-) It's zero. :-) Nothing: Nada - straight as an arrow! She had a compensatory 25 degree right facing curve brought on by the brace prescribed by her original (ugh!) orthopedist - and it is now 8 degrees!!! I LOVE THIS X-RAY!! For those of you who do not know - she's now 7 years old, had her diagnosis at 5 years old - saw Dr. D'Astous last October in Salt Lake City - who agreed, for her specific case, the specific brace she has from Dynamic Orthotics here in Texas is the best treatment for her - and ohmygosh - it is totally working! We are very excited. Tracey - if you're still there - Dr. saw the x-ray yesterday and said " I don't mean to rain on your parade, but she still has a lot to grow " (he is sooooo bucking to have surgery for her it drives me crazy!) - Anyway - all is well. Thanks for all the support in this group. Robin
