Guest guest
My husband got me a delux one, $5,000 worth. I used it 4 times, now it's parked in my spare utility room. Guest guest
Actually, our insurance paid 100%. I cant walk around in stores, or for very long, I use at least 8 liters when I walk, but it was so heavy and hard to get in and out of our truck. He bought 2 ramps but it really needed a lift which we couldn't afford so, by the way, its up for sale...lol VickyStart the year off right. Easy ways to stay in shape in the new year. Guest guest
Oh, he practically got you a car for that amount. I was thinking of far less expensive and lighter. Why did you not use it? Too much trouble? No need? I mean as long as I can walk and sats stay up, I intend to, but there just seems to come a time where it sure would provide more freedom. > > My husband got me a delux one, $5,000 worth. Guest guest
I'm all for people using Scooters-Motorized chairs to get around before though they should have lessons on riding it because there has been a few times, I have been run over by one....NO apologies whatsoever from the person who's using it. Irene ---- Original Message ---- To: Breathe-Support Sent: Sun, 6 Jan 2008 11:43 pm Subject: Scooters-Motorized Chairs It struck me that I never hear them discussed here. Are any members using them? To those who are further along and not using, is it a matter of choice, of costs, or of not having a vehicle to haul them? It just seems to me that at some point they would add to quality of life so I was curious. Meet the new AOL.ca. Free radio, music, videos, news & entertainment – with a Canadian perspective. Guest guest
Oh Wal-mart is the worst. You can be standing there and they'll just run right over you. I've been tempted (before IPF) to go get one and then seek out the maniacs and play bumper cars with them. While I have always yielded to those struggling or in chairs or any other needs, I don't feel that being in an electric cart gives you entitlement to ignore the safety of others. But its like they think they're race car drivers or something sometimes. I actually encountered on run right into the back of someone one night. Then she perpetrator jumped on the lady for not getting out of her way...with her back turned, where she had no idea the Maniac Mauler was driving through. > > I'm all for people using Scooters-Motorized chairs to get around before though they should have lessons on riding it because there has been a few times, I have been run over by one....NO apologies whatsoever from the person who's using it. > Irene > > ---- Original Message ---- > > To: Breathe-Support > Sent: Sun, 6 Jan 2008 11:43 pm > Subject: Scooters-Motorized Chairs > > > > > > > It struck me that I never hear them discussed here. Guest guest
What actually made me think more about it is that I may trade cars and was thinking I should get something that could hold one or at least carry a lift with it on it. Now, I was looking at smaller lighter and less expensive potential scooters. You could pull a trailer behind yours...lol. Did find a pretty good site I think for pricing but don't know the quality. Lifts and ramps from $350 to over $2000 though so makes you wonder about the cheaper ones. Also, I imagine your chair must weigh around 400 pounds if not more at that price. My feeling about ramps was that when I reach the point I need the scooter, I probably couldn't handle anything that wasn't completely automatic. Of course by that point I might well not be driving either so who knows. > > Actually, our insurance paid 100%. One day we did take a walk, well I was riding and that I did enjoy but I'm in an apt so its a lot harder to get around in it. Vicky81856 Start the year off right. Guest guest
I live in 'Roundabout' City....because of our floods it costs too much to replace Traffic Lights every-time they go under floodwater.....so we have BIG, big, medium , little , teeny, tweensy-weensy sized 'R's' ALL over the place! We love 'em ...great FUN to anticipate & the traffic flows really well...EXCEPT when visitors are in Town & they're terrified & get stuck waiting for a clear spot.... Our BIG ones have all sorts of Landscaping & sculptures set up on them...quite Arty Farty a lot of them! The Council had to remove the one had had the Fake Waterfall & Rainforest eventually ..no one could SEEE what was coming! Looked fabby though! Aaah life in the Aussie country-side...nuthin' quite like it! in Oz >> I've thought about those little 'round a bouts' or what ever they are called...see them on TV all the time. Guest guest
...this is funny. lol. The differences in words. I was talking about a little "Round-A-Bout Scooter. I'm not even sure that's the correct name. Roundabouts mean something different to you. I like yours better but I'm sure I would be one to wonder what the hell? If I were driving there where you live. Mama-Sher, 69; IPF, 3-06, OR.Don't fret about tomorrow, God is already there! Re: Re: Scooters-Motorized Chairs> > > > Actually, our insurance paid 100%.
