NB I'm now FORCED to tell y's all a TRUE Tale about our Tassie Devils....as you know I have a daughter who lives in Tasmania & one evening we were engaged in our usual phone link chatting away.....I became aware of THE most indescribably HIDEOUS noise in the background..... a sort of deep GROWLING combines with a screeching SHRIEK that made my blood CURDLE...I asked what the heck it was & she calmly told me it was just a family of Tassie Devils who'd taken up residence UNDER her bathroom floor & they were trying to tear one of her LEATHER BOOTS to bits.....Tassie Devils eat other animals (usually already dead!) & the only way they can tear the meat off the carcass is to fight over it because they're quite small with small jaws & teeth....so they make a HECK of a RACKET but they're just sitting down to an average DINNER!The tragedy is that they're fast becoming extinct because there is a dreadful cancerous virus raging through the Devil popluation of Tasmania that is passed on through their communal eating habit.
