Guest guest
: Hi... I would sign Amy up for life insurance right away. I can't get any for my son and it's really irritating. Then, I would have her tested after you've found a good life insurance policy. (Health insurance shouldn't be a problem because she is already covered by yours, and there are lots of ways to get insurance through jobs, etc. where they can't ask health questions.) Unless you are doing chest PT and having regular checkups and sputum cultures to see what's growing in the lungs, the care Amy is receiving now is NOT the same as what would be done if it was learned she has CF. My fear would be for any unseen damage happening to the lungs which might be prevented or slowed down with PT and other precautions (staying away from people who are sick, etc., all the stuff you read about here). Anyway, just my opinion on what I would do in your situation. Good luck, and I hope she does NOT have CF, but remember, it's really not the end of the world, and knowing gives you the power to wrestle with the CF alligator! OK, it was a stupid analogy, but it's the weekend and my brain is napping. Elaine 's Mom (20 months w/cf)
