But I'll bet you anything that all scientific research will reveal that mental stress, poor working conditions and screwy hours are the culprit of this weird phenomena. BTW, I am planning my jailbreak! I hope that by this time next year, I will be self-employed! Don't get me wrong, the money and benefits are good in the P.O., but I've come to the realization that it is slowly killing me, physically and mentally. But on the other hand, if I can get this surgury by early next year, maybe the weight loss will help me cope with the job better, and I'll find the strength to hang in there for another 8 yrs, and then pray for an early out offering! This should prove to be a convincing argument as well. We work damn hard. Physical labor. Yet, the pounds stay. I think this dog can hunt!!! Yeah! > kris To tell you the truth, we do work damn hard! And I honestly think that is the one thing that has kept my weight where it is, and that I don't have some of the more serious comorbidities. But the biggest setback I have are my legs. I have terrible varicos veins, and edema, plus ulcerations that don't heal. And it's getting worse. That, I think, is the biggest reason why I want the surgury, so I can move without pain! And Kris-as far as early outs go, they are only planning on offering it to administrative personnel right now(700 jobs nationwide), but the rumors have been flying for the rest of us. I wouldn't mind seeing a bunch of these double-dipping vets retire (no offense, please) so that my seniority will finally MEAN something. -- Claudine Raymo jovilea@...
