,

I got fibromyalgia nine years ago and experienced many symptoms: fatigue, sore

muscles and joints, gastro-intestinal problems, head aches, MS-like symptoms,

and

sleep disturbance. Some of the symptoms came and went while others, like the

fatigue, soreness, and stomach problems were constant.

It took me six months to get a diagnosis. I was put on prozac and began to

walk,

at first only a block. I began to see some improvement after a month and felt

much better in four months. I remained on prozac for a year and a half, then

gradually backed off. I cannot say that I am fully recovered, but I have

learned

my limitations. I horseback ride, walk, and bike ride but I make a point of

getting a minimum of 8 hours sleep. If I overdo it or try some new activity, my

muscles spasm and I am exhausted for a day or two. However, that certainly

beats

the initial episode of fibro.

Hope this helps,

a
