I mean, how can he just say " I don't know about it? " Well dear Sir, nor do we as we are the patients and when we come to you for medical advice we expect a duty of care - so if you don't know go find out! Honestly!....... anyway, as you may have gathered by now it's an anti-convulsant with an off-list use of helping nerve pain. If you have a look at some articles by Dr. Goldstein you will see that he advocates the use of an anti-convulsant plus and anti-depressant and this combination was the only thing to have touched my pain in 10 years. maybe you could send your doctor some basic information on gaba for nerve pain? i'm sure there are articles here in the files section or via google. Good luck, kay
Guest guest
What was your combination? And how long were you on it before you began to feel a reduction in pain? > >Reply-To: VulvarDisorders >To: VulvarDisorders >Subject: Quitting Gabapentin (Neurontin) - Re: Pregabalin (Lyrica) >Date: Fri, 17 Feb 2006 11:23:34 -0000 > > > ><< The doctor I saw today says he doesn't know anything about > > Gabapentin, and thinks I should stop taking it and just increase my > > Elavil (amitryptelene). > > > > Any one have thoughts on that? >> > >Hi Stepahnie, > >My first thought is probably not that helpful, but what comes to mind >is telling that damn doctor to go find out about gaba!
