Guest guest
I dropped onto the list tonight and read a few posts about the fear of having someone else wipe one's bottom after surgery. Here is some advice for you svelte pre-ops who can apparently wipe your own butts now unaided: buy a Homecraft Toilet Aid from www.medque.com. I needed help in this area long before surgery and experimented with every extension device imagineable, from Sonoma to Home Depot. The toilet aid, when used with Cottonelle adult wipes, kept my bottom spanking clean, even during the heaviest months of my life, when I could not put on my own socks. After surgery, you will have no trouble reaching when using this toilet aid. Just remember to use it with wipes, not toilet paper. I never needed anyone else to wipe me after surgery, and I was not exactly <chuckle> what you would call limber. The toilet aid retired from service when my BMI dropped below about 60. I can't quite bring myself to throw it out, though. Good luck to all of you brave pre-ops. Life with a BMI below 50 is (literally) a walk in the park. =========================== Nina P.
