you can do all that stuff right away just no lifting for a few weeks plus they give you vicadin witch helps a lotyour going to be pretty sore for a while sleeping was the hard thing could not find a comfortable spot laying downQuestion: I have been told that I should expect to be in the hospital for 48 hours after the procedure. How long before I can be up and around? Not talking lots of activity, just sitting up, talking on the phone, and light computer work.Thanks, Todd, IPF, 12/07

You should be doing some walking the day after if not the day of the

surgery. You should be sitting up the afternoon of the surgery. By the

time you get home, you should basically be able to do any of the things

you're talking about. I planned and chose not to get out for a while,

but easily felt that I could have.
