Guest guest
Oh, poor . First time, you just don't realize that the " 90 day " period isn't aimed at imperfection but at that person who is a major problem in every respect. Also, that in reality the 90 day period is just a gimmick, because in employment law it doesn't even exist or have meaning. But when you're young and conscientious you're so concerned you're not doing perfectly. The thing she doesn't understand either that the ones who are concerned about their work are never the ones in trouble. It's like when a group is called together and a warning of some sort given. The only ones not concerned are those its aimed at and they just don't get it. Sounds like a learning process for her to learn she isn't perfect (although to you and to us she is) and no one expects her to be. Just do your best and it will all be fine. It so disappoints me that a respiratory rehab employee would expose others. ly, they should even send patients home who appear they may have contagious conditions. You would think of all professions they would be careful. Even my mental health counselor was considerate enough to ask up front if she should call and cancel my appointment if she's got a cold at any time. And, it pained me to say, yes, but we sit across from each other talking and just an unwise chance as she fully understood. Oh I saw your weather earlier. Was about to complain about ours but then thought of you and realized I had no complaint. I can just put on heavier coat tomorrow and my very ugly ridiculous looking but warm warm warm hat with even ear flaps. > > > Hi to all: > > I appreciate all the input. Guest guest
Bruce, Your reply about has made me feel so much better! I was miffed with her, at first, because she wanted to share this with her dad, not me. Then I remembered, as long as she was in school, she was a perfectionist. Her dad also shared with her that he was also nervous with 90 day periods. did struggle in college but she worked very hard! I am hoping and praying that she has a good day today. On Wednesdays, her dept. has a meeting. Thanks! Toodles! Jane UIP/IPF 12/1998 Dalton, Georgia > >> > > > Hi to all:> > > > I appreciate all the input. Guest guest
Well, perfectionism, whether self induced or learned can be one of the worst things we can develop. Wanting to do our best should be our goal. But, the true perfectionist will never have the feeling of success, just failure, because they can't be perfect. I know, I tried it. Not saying she is, but that may be one thing for you as the gentle mother to keep reminding her of. And, that her happiness is all that really matters, not this job or anything else. Do her best, you love her unconditionally, and all is well. One more thing. My last job, the best employee working for me I guess I would put in the " struggled at little bit " category with learning new things. At least he wasn't as quick in that as I was. I wouldn't have traded Mike for anyone including a dozen like me. He learned it thorough and was diligent and accurate beyond words. He also made an excellent teacher and trainer of others as he was very methodical. Mike kept notes on all his processes and monthly tasks. The " one who struggled " was the one who never missed a deadline. We would hit closing and all his work was completed and all right. Meanwhile we were waiting on the fast ones to finish. Again though, they aren't looking to weed out the ones not quite as fast as the others or not perfect. The employer wants every one they hired to be successful. The 90 days gives them a chance to weed out the ones who already demonstrate they can't be depended on to show up, they can't get along with other employees, they refuse to listen to their supervisors, they lie, or they just refuse to even try to do their work right. I know enough about through you to tell her not to worry, just do her best, if there is anything she's taught that she doesn't understand, don't hesitate to ask again, and be happy. Did I say that, BE HAPPY! Happy in life, not because of a job or apartment or anything. Just, simply, happy. > > > > > > > > > Hi to all: > > > > > > I appreciate all the input.
