Guest guest
ROTFL!! Since you brought the subject up again, and I'm sitting here with a CPT in my lap, I looked up both possibilities. You can relax. The physician can perform a Rennie-oscopy, but s/he won't get reimbursed for it! The CPT sends seekers of " nephroscopy " to see " endoscopy, kidney, " which lists a number of procedures (50551-50580) from " Renal endoscopy through established nephrostomy or pyelostomy, with or without irrigation, instillation, or ureteropyelography, exclusive of radiologic service " through the same procedure with nephrotomy or pyelotomy and involving " removal of foreign body or calculus. " That leads me to believe the accepted term--at least by 3rd party payers and the AMA--is " renal endoscopy " or " nephroscopy. " Valeria *who apparently gets goofy when there's snow on the ground!* At 09:03 AM 1/4/2002, Rennie wrote: >A renoscopy? OMG, that sounds toooooo much like a rennieoscopy for my >taste.
