Guest guest
As usual our feeling on you coming here is mixed. We wish you didn't need to but we welcome you openly. Somewhat similarly, I had the CT's for lymph nodes but no one picked up on the Fibrosis as they were so focused on lymph nodes. So my diagnosis came later. And, congratulations on 2 1/2 years. As bad as this disease is, I'm sure its going to be easier to deal with than that was. And after that I'm sure you know your strength and ability to deal so much better. We'll wait to hear about your appointment. Remember we're always here for you. Bruce Moreland 58 IPF 08/07 Dallas/Plano > > Hi folks, > I'm new here, so be nice. Guest guest
Jon... welcome to our little group. A better bunch you will never find! An answer to any question and support all the time. Certainly glad your scan for lymphoma is negative and great you could stop smoking again! I was a smoker many years ago, relapsed and then it was three times as hard to quit. Being an RN you will have a lot of general knowledge to share I'm sure. Congrats on the marriage. Dawn must be quite a gal to accept what's ahead for the two of you. Keep on keepin' on in your recovery too. I was dx 3-06 and have been fairly stable since. I have other chronic health problems that currently give me more problems then the IPF. Mostly I have sob to deal with. Stick around. From: The Rev. Jon A. How I got here is an amazing story in itself.About 6 weeks ago I found myself in ER with an attack of kidney stones. Not so unusual, given that I've had kidney stones before and I've had kindeys all my life. When I followed up with my regular osteopath a week later she mentioned that the CT of my abdomen showed some swollen lymph glands. She sent me to an oncologist. Part of his work up for lymphoma was to do a CT with contrast of my chest and abdomen, as well as a PET scan. Just yesterday I found out that the scans were negative for lymphoma, but that the CT of the chest showed "moderate to severe pulmonary fibrosis". The oncologist called my DO, and this Friday I have an appointment with a good pulmonologist.I'm 49. I smoked from the time I was 16 until 1987. I quit for many years, and started again in March of 2006, and quit in July of 2007.
