Guest guest
Martha, Find out if there is a child life specialist available at the hospital to walk you through. If not ask about a patient advocate. They can help make your experience more pleasant and get you to stay with her as long as possible and be away only a short time. Breastmilk on the incision site will help it heal quicker so make sure to pump some for that. Get some books from the library if you can about hospitalization. Take her to the pediatric ward before she has it done so she feels more comfortable. any other advice? Wendi tongue-tied From: Fafahahema@... Guest guest
My son had his tonsils out last year. It was done on an outpatient basis, but one of the programs the hospital had was called " Sail Through Surgery " , they took CJ on a tour of the operating room, showed them the anesthesia mask, the recovery room and explained the whole process to him. It was wonderful! Of course, he was 7 at the time, I don't know how young your daughter is? Guest guest
My pediatrician refused to clip it actually called it barbaric. I had an Ears, Nose, Throat (ENT) do it. I was cracked and dealing with thrush for 8 weeks and it hurt sooo bad. It was either clip it and see if it helped or stop nursing. Luckily it helped. Good luck and let me know what you decide. It really is not bad. never cried and there was no bleeding. He nursed immediately and there was such a difference. Are you having problems? Guest guest
Martha, I am glad you feel at peace about the procedure. I know she will do well Trusting your instincts is something that is under rated I think. If only we all could be more in touch with the gift of trusting in ourselves...wouldn't it be wonderful? I will be thinking of you all and wishing for a swift recovery
