Guest guest Posted January 15, 2008 Report Share Posted January 15, 2008 We are such idiots.....I mean it. There is no need for any such thing as a double blind trial but we've set up this mechanism. We have done enough trials over the years to long ago know what happens with the placebo group. And, give terminal patients rights. Yes, if we try a phase 3 trial med it might kill us, but for those of us about to die anyway, what is the problem? There has to be some better way although I don't know enough to know what it is. I also know that the vast majority of meds put through trials do not work out. As a compromise at least I feel there should be a certain point in trials to let others try.
