Guest guest
Hi Jane, It's a little better, for the next 3 days, I have to take Prednisone 20mg. I did some paper work. Thanks for asking Irene ---- Original Message ---- To: Breathe-Support Sent: Wed, 16 Jan 2008 11:13 pm Subject: Irene Irene, How is your hand? I saw the picture. I sure hope it is better. I don't see how you did anything at work with such a swollen hand. Toodles! Jane UIP/IPF 12/1998 Dalton, Georgia aka pianolady_musicgirl Meet the new AOL.ca. Guest guest
Please send her my love next time you speak to her Thanks xxxx>> Hi all,> > Just talked to Irene a little bit ago and she's in the hospital! She had a breathing episode at work and had to call "911" and the paramedics and fire dept came and brought her to the hospital. They are checking her for blood clots and if she's ok, she will be able to come home tonight. IF not, they are going to hold her over the weekend.> > Leanne> > > ---------------------------------> Never miss a thing. Guest guest
For those who don't really know this incredible young woman, she's got more to deal with than i can imagine and more strength and courage than ten people. Yet, she laughs and giggles and jokes and tries to work and perseveres. She's the epitome of fragile and tough, of fiesty and sweet. I couldn't have dealt with it at her age or that point in my life. Any moment I would ever start to feel bad for myself I can't do so, not with a friend as unbelievable in spite of everything as she is. The first time I ever heard her voice I thought I was going to just melt (French Canadian). She just bubbles over in spite of anything. She can tell you about the most awful of days and somehow leave you smiling. Right now i'm crying and praying for her. I know she's use to ER as she should get frequent flyer miles but its just not fair. Of course I guess thats part of all of us, none of this is fair. If somehow she does make it to San (work may prevent) then please warn me not to hug her so hard i break her. Thanks for listening. I just had to talk to someone when I got the news. > > Hi all, > > Just talked to Irene a little bit ago and she's in the hospital! Guest guest
Thanks Bruce... good of you to call. Tell her I send good wishes and God's Blessings all over her! Mama-Sher, 69; IPF, 3-06, OR.Don't fret about tomorrow, God is already there! Re: Irene Just talked to her. She's waiting for a decision still on going home or spending the weekend. Hearing her voice, even though not her normal energy but still somehow bubbly, cheered me up somehow. Its amazing when you call to cheer someone else up a little and instead its you who finds yourself cheered up. I will be talking to her tonight hopefully and let everyone know.> >> > Hi all,> > > > Just talked to Irene a little bit ago and she's in the hospital! > She had a breathing episode at work and had to call "911" and the > paramedics and fire dept came and brought her to the hospital. Guest guest
She's going home.....being released and will be headed home shortly. She just called. As she's not exactly sure where she is, not sure how long it will take to get home. You think I'm joking but think about it. You're in the back of an ambulance when they head off somewhere with you. You can't see. And, I can only imagine how many hospitals Toronto has. But, at least the news is good and she is very happy. > > > > > > Hi all, > > > > > > Just talked to Irene a little bit ago and she's in the > hospital! > > She had a breathing episode at work and had to call " 911 " and the > > paramedics and fire dept came and brought her to the hospital. > They > > are checking her for blood clots and if she's ok, she will be able > to > > come home tonight. Afterwards the ER dr came back to see how I was feeling, so I say a bit better than I was in the ambulance...he says let me check your lungs, I say OK! "He says to me you're still wheezing, how can you be feeling a bit better". They asked me a bunch of questions and they determined Fire Dept?and Ambulance need to get there right away! I told them No you cannot send one, I'm at work, what am I supposed to tell my supervisor, I just got back from my 2 days off. Can it wait until my shift is over....Finally, I told her please send them over because I was about to faint on her and I stayed on the phone until Fire Dept got there...they took over, a few minutes later Paramedics arrived. > > Irene > Raynaud's Disease 09/07 > PF 03/07 Canada > > > > > > > > > __________________________________________________________ __ > Meet the new AOL.ca. Guest guest
thank you Jane! ---- Original Message ---- To: Breathe-Support Sent: Mon, 21 Jan 2008 11:21 am Subject: Re: Irene Irene, I read your update. Sweetie Irene, you MUST go to a pulmonary doctor who can monitor your pulmonary fibrosis. A GP doctor knows nothing about pulmonary fibrosis. If you don't have your PF monitored, you could end up with respiratory failure which can lead to death. I suffered from acute respiratory distress syndrome after emergency gall bladder surgery and nearly died. I was already in the hospital when this happened to me. Irene, even though I am not a doctor, I know from my experience and all of our experiences on the board, it sounds as if you need to be on oxygen. Please, we want you to be here with us. PLease. . .
