Guest guest
I just had to add that I,too strongly agree with the positive ,assertive stance that is espousing. I,too, almost died prior to my surgery.... therefore my choice was somewhat different then many here...live or die??? Hmmmm...that was a pretty easy one for me. I do however feel that logic would dictate that if there is a negative progression occurring in symptoms, the odds are not great that this will right itself without surgical intervention. And I ,personally, would not have wanted to wait until the symptoms were irreversible..... In my case, I WAS fortunate and have led a quite normal, active life for the 10 years since my decompression. I'm not trying to " pick on " anyone.. but I felt badly that it appeared that MANY people were getting on 's case... and I question whether this is fair. Yes, there is a chance of complications from surgery... this can be minimized by research and finding a Dr. with knowledge and experience in this area... not just one that happens to be near by. I also believe that the " complications " of living in daily pain and danger are a real concern too. The weighing of these has to be a very personal decision...... Sorry for sounding " preachy " , but I do feel strongly about this......... Best wishes to all, Sally R...ACM... decompression '91.... Hydro....
