Tina, Now it's time to grab life by the horns and be the best Tina you can be! Know that we're here for you any time of the day or night! LeanneTina wrote: Hello all. I have been busy reading all the posts, but haven't replied much. I have been consumed with my doctors, etc. I am officially "withdrawn" from the transplant evaluation and listing. My heart problems, my antigen count, my own perspective...all played a role in the decision. Transplant is not

going to be an option for me. I am not disappointed, but rather, I am relieved to a degree. I slept for many hours yesterday as the news really hit me. I guess the stress relief was what I needed. I am thankful for each and every day that I have and I am glad that I am still able to do so many things. I know there will come a day when I will not be so lucky, and I will face those days "head on". I am especially thankful for this group and how caring everyone is. Next week I see a neurologist at Cleveland Clinic and then on to the sleep study! I am almost certain I will then be equipped with a CPAP too.God Bless,TinaIPF 04/07 PH 11/07 Ohio

I've considered seeing if I could get my doctor to prescribe it at

some point as I do have mild PH as one would exoect, but I suspect it

would take more. In reality though what I would be hoping would be to

see if it did help the IPF. The trials still keep moving along.

Leanne,

Yes I was prescribed Viagra to treat PH, but my insurance did not

want to pay for it! The pharmacist told me that it costs so much

that ins. companies are now requiring authorization, etc. I was not

able to obtain the authorization because the doctor from Cleve.

Clinic didn't respond to my inquiry to do so! So, when I went to my

new local pulmonologist, he said - " We'll change the prescription to

Tracleer and see what they do. " I received the call today that the

Tracleer is on its way. It has to be mailed to each individual

taking it. Very strict follow-up is necessary due to liver

function. In any event, the insurance company would rather give me

the extremely expensive medicine than pay for Viagra. Go figure? I

hope the treatment of PH helps with the PF too. I hear it can.

God Bless,

Tina

Tom has a prescription for it also - didn't have to wait to go on a trial - can't tell yet if is helping or not - right now just waiting on news for him to have his transplant.
