Guest guest Posted December 16, 2001 Report Share Posted December 16, 2001 This is probably too late now, and it wasn't even the question being asked ) ...but if you are allowed to correct grammar it should really be " really " (the adverb form to modify the adjective " pleased " ...how pleased?...really pleased). Real is an adjective (as in real or make believe), and adjectives can't modify other adjectives. Adverbs, on the other hand, can modify verbs, adjectives, or other adverbs.
