Guest guest
Hi Everybody, My son did not speak at all. I found on the Internet this DVD called Baby Babble, the minute he watched it, he started talking. Once he started to talk we had to help him with immediate and delayed echolalia. We would start by asking him what did you do today, he would repeat our question. We would ask again, immediately we take his hand and put it on his chest and say: " I...went to... he would have to fill in the blanks" it took about a month but it helped. When this didn't work, we used puppets. We would have two puppets ask each other questions and ignore our son, so this would make our son get involved and start asking questions and he would tell them about his day. The other thing we did as well was to tell him what we were going to do today (sequence) we would say: " today we are going to the park, then we are going to the supermarket and last we are having lunch. Can you tell me what are we doing today? " We also have our son take pictures of his day, download them on the computer and ask what happen here. There is a great cartoon " Pinky dinky doo " on nick it teaches sequence, they have to answer what came first -what happen next and who said this. Hope this helps Peggy
