Guest guest
Bruce... give yourself time to adjust to CPAP. I couldn't sleep with it and now can't sleep without it. The mask is sooo important. I have the gel...softer against my skin. But I'm sure you researched everything before hand. I call mine 'my snorkel'! Sure glad you like the Genie. I liked mine too but it didn't work with only one person in the bed. The sides of the mattress tended to fall to center and I felt like a hot dog. Well, maybe a cold dog. Whatever. Your king bed won't do that I'm thinkin'. Mama-Sher, 69; IPF, 3-06, OR.Don't fret about tomorrow, God is already there! Re: Z I've had sleep issues for over twenty years, but I can't imagine anyone here who wouldn't have some. We're all dealing with a lot. Our minds don't shut down that easily. Leanne starts thinking of everyone here and everyone she's talked to. Racing minds don't sleep. I take my sleep meds, they work better some nights than others. Tonight is my first night with CPAP and my Mattress Genie.....should be interesting to say the least.> I don't sleep well most nights...> > I know the prednisone plays havoc in our nervous systems and with our > sleep habits...But I did notice a lot of you were posting at around 2-> 3am....> > I was asleep at 10pm or so but then at 2am i started tossing and > turning andfinally got out of bed to read emails...> > A good night's sleep for me is 6 hours (actually that is a great nights > sleep), my doc says I need to go for another sleep test...this will be > my 4th.> > Who else is having sleep issues and why do you think that is?> > Steve-NY> NSIP,RB,COPD (2000)> Sleep Apnea> > > > > > > ---------------------------------> Be a better friend, newshound, and know-it-all with Yahoo! Guest guest
Leanne, After reading many other posts I guess that PF can cause sleeplessness all by itself!!! Having to fight to get to sleep just adds more stress!!!!I try visualization, counting backwards, breathing exercises, .. They don't work if the Lunesta doesn't work!!!! The Lunesta is supposed to work quickly, the directions say to take it right at bedtime. Well, I can be there for an hour before it kicks in!!!! If it doesn't work in an hour I get up and play here on the computer for a while then try to sleep in the recliner. Z fibriotic NSIP/05 Z fibriotic NSIP/o5/PA And “mild” PH/10/07 and Reynaud’s too!! I've been off prednisone over 2 years now and sleep a tiny bit better than I used to, but not much. It's a weird state too. Like I'm wide awake. Not tired at all. Or soooooooooo tired and still can't fall asleep. No matter what. It's so aggravating and frustrating. I end up praying. Thinking and praying for everyone in this group. Or the patients that I talk to. Or??? So, I don't just think it's the prednisone. Sorry. Ambienis my friend altho I don't take it every night. I don't know why pulmonary fibrosis patients don't sleep very well. I'll get 3-4 hours of sleep and then be WIDE awake. Or not fall asleep until way late and toss and turn. If I take ambien, I get a good 6 hours of sleep. Anybody have thoughts as to why we don't sleep too well? A good night's sleep for me is 6 hours (actually that is a great nights sleep), my doc says I need to go for another sleep test...this will be my 4th.
