With the energy needed just for a regular day, I can't see me walking a dog and our new place does not have a fenced in area and none can be put in either ( home owners association rules) MIke not really a dog lover but tolerated the Dalmation. It's been 19 years since we had her.She was a liver and white Dalmation ( yes,,brown spots not black) She was a great family member and we still get all mushy whenever there is a Dalmation on TV. She was named Brown Pearl but we called her Pearlie...so all Dalmations are now "Pearlie dogs" My grown up kids still talk about her and give each other Dalmation items as gifts.
