Guest guest
Hi all. I havent actually been to a dermatologist to confirm that i have rosacea, but have for about the last 10 years suffered from redness on cheeks and chin, you know that nasty uneven skin tone thing? Anyhow its been really getting to me lately and i thought all this time that all i had was ruddy skin, but reading up on this condition makes me think that i may have rosacea. i dont really have the pustules that are talked about. i get pimples now and then but nothing too too bad. i normally have very oily skin but get dryness on the cheeks occasionallly. i find it gets more red after a hot shower, or exposure to cold weather, winds, etc. ive been doing alot of reading about this lately and see that metrogel is commonly prescribed as a first treatment, but also read that it helps with the pimples not the redness. well i need something to make the redness go away and wondered if anybody has had any success with a topical medication that has done wonders for the redness. thanks. ______________________________________________________
Guest guest
To hel;p with the redness, anything that bleaches your skins works well, actually right now I am suing Proactive off the TV and it works wonders. It has a bleaching agent in it and has taken almost all the red out, also it keeps those little breakouts from stress and what not from happening. Guest guest
My dermatologist is Dr. Kathy Fields, one of the two dermatologists who developed Proactiv. She diagnosed me as having rosacea, but did not prescribe this product for it. I do not think Proactiv is meant for rosaceans, as it has benzoyl peroxide as a main ingredient. Guest guest
On the sheet that comes with it it says it may or may not work, but for mine it has made a difference that nothing else has. I know it's more for acne, and I have used it for 4 months now and my face has never been better. There is no redness and the skin is as soft as porclean. It works me and I am stiking to it. I also use renova that peels the layers off your skin and that helps to. To be honest, besides the doxycycline, I am now using everything the dermotolgist tell you not to use, and my face has never been better. I also try and stay away from caffine, that is a big trigger. tell your dermotologist that proactive works for me, and is a life safer b/c I have tried everything for the last 15 years and this is the only thing that has made any improvement!!
