Guest guest
HI ALL, i'm a new member of this group, and i'm so happy joining it. Actually i have a rare disesse called TAKAYASU,(i wonder if anyone in this group was diagnosed by this disease),it's an inflammatory disease of unknown etiology that affects the aorta and its branches,it caused me hypertension, and most of my veins were affected,i'm now a 32 year old female who lost all her dreams and her aim is searching everywhere for the right medicine to this rare disease, that attacked my whole life changing it to a sad, depressed one. sometimes it's good to share your experience with others especially those who suffer from other illness, cause i think the pain is the same although the only difference could be the name of the disease. with respect. Guest guest
Hello and welcome to the group Mirna. I am glad that you found us, though sorry that you have the need for a support group like this one. I had never heard of Takayasu before but I have been reading a bit about it. I know that RA can affect the heart though it doesn't always. Guest guest
Jacy, my husband had RA and it effected his heart. He went into Congestive Heart Failure. Atrophy also set in and when he died he was down to about 145 or 150 pounds. He did weigh over 200 pounds. I never saw a person suffer so much as he did. He wanted to die........Joyce ----- Original Message ----- From: " Jacy " <jacymail@...> <Rheumatoid Arthritis > Sent: Thursday, September 09, 2004 4:28 PM Subject: RE: Anyone diagnosed by takayasu? Guest guest
Mirna, Hope you find some relief. The newest big thing is that inflammation is a cause of many, many problems. I use Lodine XL or generic form is called Etodolac for inflammation. Keep trying anti-inflammatories til you find one that helps and don't give up!!! Start reading and educate yourself as much as possible. Be proactive because it is YOUR body. Doctors are not Gods and many times it is just trial and error. Hang in there with the rest of us!
