Guest guest
Annette: Living in LA, not being able to move my fingers - especially my middle one - would put me at a distinct disadvantage on the freeways.... Seriously, though, when my hands are affected it really hurts to close them. But they are only affected sporadically which is good since I am a professional cellist. I have these flares in my hands that will come on and last for about 3 days total. And then it's back to being completely normal. Weird. My right foot/ankle is the place where my RA usually lives. gloria
Guest guest
If you know sign language, I can make a "C" but not an "E". If I try to point to something my finger points to 1 or 11 o'clock (off to the right or left) rather than 12 o'clock (straight ahead). But rude gestures? Moi? Never. Uh-huh, that's my story and I'm sticking to it! Hugs, Jacy ~I don't approve of political jokes. Guest guest
Sort of like singing to yourself? Doesn't it get in the way when you drive? And Gloria - a cellist - who would have ever thought a cellist would even consider the rude gesture? I guess in LA you have to. It's a shock how rude those other people on the road can be. My friend moved to Hawkesbury - out in the sticks - and he says it's such a culture shock to be driving where everyone is polite and friendly. Guest guest
Well I'm glad I"m not the only one then!! We've had unseasonably cold weather here in Chicagoland this week (lower 60s), so my hands have been acting up a lot due to the change in weather, which I've grown unacustomed to. Knock on wood my hands have been nice lately. So I've definately been signing a lot this week. Guest guest
So it's not just here then. My mom and I were commenting on how it has been a wierd summmer here. While we have had some days in the 90s, on the whole, it's been cooler than it usuually is in the summer here, although not as cool as it has been here this week. Plus mom has a butterfly/hummingbird garden in her back yard and she hasn't seen many butterflys or hummers this year. Huh. That's weird that it's been cooler this year. I am not complaining by any means. It's just a shock to be in the middle of august with 60 degree weather, when you' know it should be in the 90s. We have only had a few days in the 90s. But that part I like. I have enjoyed this cooler weather. Hugs, Jacy ~I don't approve of political jokes. Jacy <jacymail@...> wrote: This is "the summer that wasn't" here in Colorado too. Hmmm, makes you wonder doesn't it? We have had some very warm days but much cooler than normal for the most part. We've had unseasonably cold weather here in Chicagoland this week (lower 60s), so my hands have been acting up a lot due to the change in weather, which I've grown unacustomed to. Knock on wood my hands have been nice lately. So I've definately been signing a lot this week. Before my diagnosis it was pretty difficult. I actually am fluent in sign language. So I sign to myself alot, or while in the car to music to keep my hands limber. I don't know if that's medically sound, but hey it gives me something to do. Jacy <jacymail@...> wrote: If you know sign language, I can make a "C" but not an "E". It's close but not really a classic fist.Like in traffic if you give someone the finger - they need a translator to get it when you have crooked fingers. Of course no one in this group would ever be so rude, right?Annette Do you ? Address AutoComplete - You start.
