Guest guest
I finally have a referral to a vulvar specialist, but my appointment is not until August 23rd. In the meantime, the doctor refuses to treat me because she doesn't know what is wrong or how to deal with it (now that yeast has been ruled out) and she wants the specialist to see me as I am. However, the itching and irritation has been particularly bad for the past week. I think it is because my body is trying (unsuccessfully, apparently) to ovulate, so there has been an excess of cervical fluid. My skin is very sensitive to moisture. Last night I was desperate so looked in the medicine cabinet to see if there was anything I could find to relief the itching. I found a tube of Zincofax (diaper rash cream) that I bought a couple of years ago for the same symptoms. I looked up the ingredients online, and they didn't look too bad to me (it's the unscented kind of course): http://www.rxmed.com/b.main/b2.pharmaceuti...)/ZINCOFAX.html I used it, and it seemed to help, but I am wondering if I did the right thing. I haven't tried showering yet, but I can tell from the trouble I had getting it off my hands afterwards that it will be difficult. Has anybody had any experience with diaper rash cream? Can you think of any reason I shouldn't be using it?
Guest guest
HI Aisling ( sorry I forget your first name) I think diaper rashes are great to use as a temporary relief thing. Especially one that's high in zinc... zinc is a good skin healer. I believe Desitin has the highest amt. at 40% just like the Zincofax 'I think'. I don't see how it can harm you unless it's got other base ingredients in it you might be allergic to. I think Zincofax has lanolin and that can itch some people. Good luck. Guest guest
I read somewhere to try A & D ointment and I tried that, did not seem to help but did not hurt either.
