It is available at any computer or office store. Its a very small

device that plugs into any USB port on a computer. Because they are

small and can hold large amounts of data they are extremely handy.

Thanks MB...this is what I needed...more hands on info.

How are you able to get records before you leave Dr. office? They haven't had time to record them. Must be different there.

Sher,

I should have been clearer, after each visit I bring home copies of whatever is new on my chart. Obviously any notes or test results wouldn't be available till my next visit. However when I have bloodwork done or a CT scan, x-ray or PFT I always request a copy of the results for me personally. They usually just email them to me. That way I usually only have to get the notes from the doctors office. This all helps me keep it as up to date as possible.

None of this matters that much if I'm at home but when I travel and I'm on the road by myself it's just nice to know that I have documentation of my condition with me at all times. I also wear a MedicAlert bracelet to alert folks to my medical issues.

Actually I've found occasionally with some of them that by turning

them upside down it provides some relief. So, can laugh at you

all she wants, but I don't argue with anything that works.

Actually the Oxyarm by Southpedic is called a cannula and has no

prongs and the Westmed mask is made for those who can't tolerate

cannulas. It isn't like a large mask, but rather small. Weird

feeling. Both are shown here:

MB...now I have some idea how to go about 'getting started'.

As I'm getting ready to move on from last doc. I have all my tests/scans/labs. Just have to scan them into the computer now. I'll handle getting them on the MS later.

I think your idea is a grand one. How good it must make you feel to have those records with you.

I had considered one of those Med-Alert Bracelets that un-fold out of a watch-type holder. On that, one has to write everything in and eventually it seems it would get messy as things are deleted or changed.

How long have these MS been available?

for me in the Ambulanc & ER, they used the Oxygen Masks 5 times, were a Respiratory Therapist administered it. Thank God he had a good sense of humour lol! I asked him if he sees a lot of PF patients, he said Yes, a lot of them are elderly people. It was his first time seeing a young person with PF and also having to draw blood.

He made laugh because he was having such a hard time (he was just looking for veins not poking) then he says to me, even if I wanted to do an ABG on you, you're not even going to give me blood lol!. He did finally find a vein, I really made him work hard for his money lol!

At admission, they used the soft tube with pongs and 3 litres of Oxygen.

2nd time in ER, they used a soft tube with pongs hooked on a green tank looked like it was about to take off lol! They had me on 3 litres of Oxygen.
