Guest guest
i am pretty new to this whole scd lifestyle and scd compliant pharmacy compounding thing! so i don't want you to misunderstand.. and i don't want to misguide you. there is a compounding pharmacy in hopewell, new jersey. apparently they are very familiar with scd and BTVC and they allegedly make many scd compliant medications. i was told this morning they can compound it in either liquid form or pill form (depending on the medication i need) which confused me because i saw a doctor last week that told me in order for a medication to be compounded according to scd it must be in liquid! there are no " legal " binders! which confused me even further as i have read that people from the lists/boards/groups have compounded compliant pills! so the hopewell rep on the phone this morning told me that it can in fact be done in pill form- the binder they use is called " avicel " otherwise knows as " microcrystalline cellulose " which again according to the pharmacist is scd legal and it seems that way to me after reading about it.. but hey- what do i know?? anyway- you need a prescription. i did it through doctor hoffman in nyc, he is a great believer in scd so i was trying to learn what the process is to do it through my regular GI. if i just get a script from him for the medication i need and for him to write on it " scd complaint " i am still unsure of the exact procedure? i hope to know more soon. i am getting prednisone and armour thyroid compounded in liquid and when i get that- i will look up the ingredients. after that i will call them, get all the info and go to my regular GI and give him this info along with a BTVC book. he probably wont acknowledge me or even care but i feel if i tell him and then a few years later a different patient tells him and so on maybe he'll take notice at that point. after all, he really does want to help his patients. that i know for sure after everything he has done for me. but still, slim chance of even slight acknowledgement.. but as i said.. the power of many. jodi > > so you ask the pharmacist for say entecort that I'm on but compounded > with avicel??? > eileen 5 weeks >
