, it is best to introduce anything one at a time with a couple days in between. BTW, make sure what your doc gets is scd legal. It is very rare to come upon a dr. that knows what is legal and what isn't according to scd. Katy

Hi Katy,

Thanks for replying. I have been introducing foods one at a time with

at least four days in between. (only done two so far). What I really

need to know, but I probably didn't explain too well, is do I need to,

or should I take, both the probiotics and the yoghurt, or just one of

them? As for my naturopath, I have told her exactly what I need, the

three bacteria and what else can/can't be in it. Thanks again

Hi, I am new to the group, and I was hoping you may be able to help

clear some of my confusion. I have been on SCD now for nearly two

weeks, I am having trouble with introducing new foods, and have heard

that once I introduce yoghurt or probiotics, I should start to see

improvements. I am hoping to be able to tolerate the yoghurt, but the

way things are going I am not too sure. I live in a small town, and my

naturopath is going to get me some probiotics while away next week. I

am also expecting my yogourmet starter in the next few days. My

question is, should I go on both the probiotics, and the yoghurt,

introduce just one and then the other, or just take the yoghurt, or,

or, or......? Any help would be much appreciated.

You should do one or the other at first. If you get your yogurt maker first, start with that. Start off with a teaspoonful of yogurt and see what happens. You can just have one spoonful of yogurt once a week for a while, or try dripping the yogurt, or try cow's milk first then goat's milk.

If your body isn't tolerating yogurt, then switch to taking a legal acidophilus supplement. Start slowly with this as well. But do make sure it's a legal supplement; it's difficult to find probiotics with just L. acidophilus or S. boulardii.

The important thing is to start slowly with probiotics. Sometimes it takes our bodies a while to accept them when it's also fighting a digestive disease or disorder or our immune systems are compromised. As the body heals it starts accepting probiotics better.
