I walk barefoot also on hardwood or carpet floor. I'm not a fan of walking with socks, flip flops or any kind of shoe in the appartment.

Here in Texas, you risk stepping on scorpions so I wear my Okabashi's

for nearly the entire year. My b-i-l calls them my "ohmygoshies"....
