I am seeking information on some symptoms I have. My legs have been

giving me a lot of trouble for sometime now especially my left foot.

There is numbness in both my legs from the knees down. But I have

excruciating pain in my left foot especially when I am laying down.

When I move my foot a pain runs through it like I have hit my funny

bone. It is also difficult to walk when I first wake up. Tonight my

left ankle is hurting. Has anyone else had or have symptoms like

this with RA?

Hi Joyce,

I get and odd feeling in my legs from the knee down, its like having tight support stockings on. I also get tingling in my arms from my neck down, the tingling is usually in my whole legs and makes them jump when it's really bad, usually when I lie down at night and want to sleep!

My ankles are usually pretty sore and stiff when I wake, lately they have been more so than my other bits.

Hope this helps, Lynne

Thanks ,

Fortunately this only happens now and again I am keeping my fingers crossed that it doesn't get any worse.

Thanks again, Lynne

Hi, Joyce! yes, that is exactly how I started out ... I hope you can get your doctor to take hip xrays ... the one I hate the most is called "frogs" ... you lay on your back and put your feet so the toes point at each other and your knees are open and flat ( you make a diamond shape) ... then the xray tech pushes down on each knee, so it is almost touching the table ... ouch! ...gentle hugs! Hi Matt,

I get like that often, especially if I've spent too long sitting at the

computer. I could be wrong but I suspect it's a combination of water retention

and blood pooling in the lower extremities (due to the immobility).

When it happens to me, I try to increase my fluids (to make me pee more) and

exercise to get the blood moving.

Hi, I have very bad circulation in the legs, have had a stent put in and

angioplasty done twice.  My grandson is getting married in kansas, 840 miles

and a 12 hr. drive from me and the kids want me to drive there. I am assuming

that is too long a ride, so booked a flight, will enjoy the wedding, and save

myself 2 days driving. I am now on Trental to help with the circulation, anyone

on it?   Bobby

Hi Matt: I can relate to what happened to you. Everytime we have taken a

trip for more than 4 hours, I have gotten terrible ankle swelling and such a

heavy feeling in the legs that I could barely walk. We even stop and walk

around, and I always need the restroom because of a overactive bladder so I

guess its just something I have to deal with. As soon as I can sit and elevate

my legs I feel so much better, and my ankles go back down to normal size again.

I am on Gleevec.

In five years I have not

experienced this before.

I will try elevating my legs

this evening.

Thanks for the idea.

trental:  pentoxifilline:  changes the shape of blood cells so they can pass

through arteries and prevent leg cramps etc.  that is what google had to say

about the drug.  also it may take 8 weeks to see the results. It is acceptable

to take with Ariad.  I have been on it about 3 weeks, do not see any results as

yet, will let you know if I do.
